Tigers Take Game 2 over Cards

Clemson’s Mat Clark took to the mound today as the Tigers starting pitcher and would pitch a career high of 7.1 innings, allowing just one run on four hits leading the Tigers to a 6-3 victory over the #8 Louisville Cardinals Saturday afternoon in Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The #13 Tigers now improve to 24-7 overall and 11-3 in the ACC and will go for the series sweep in the series finale Sunday at noon.

Carson Spiers would bring the last two outs of the game as he earned his ninth save of the year

Sam Hall would get the Tigers going early with a single in the third inning followed by a  homer from Grayson Byrd, his fourth of the season. Sam Hall would bring in two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and Byrd lined out a two-out, two-run single. Clemson would keep the Cardinals off of the scoreboard until Drew Campbell’s run-scoring single. Clemson freshman Bryar Hawkins also recorded his third homer of the season.
