4-star linebacker Dee Crayton committed to the Clemson Tigers today. Crayton, 6-2 215, from Alpharetta, becomes the 5th prospect from the state of Georgia to commit to the Tigers.
Crayton is listed as the #31 player in the state of Georgia, and the #21 linebacker in the country. He becomes commitment #12 for the Tigers, and the 2nd LB, joining 4-star LB Jamal Anderson of Hoschton, Georgia.
Playing for Denmark High School, Crayton saw time on both sides of the ball, mainly defense. He led his team in tackles with 91, to go along with 14 tackles for loss, and four sacks. Offensively, he rushed 42 times for 177 yards and four touchdowns.
With the addition of Crayton, Clemson jumps to #3 in the 247 recruiting rankings, moving past Penn State. Now, we all know it is early and many more will commit elsewhere. The Georgia’s, the Bama’s, the Ohio States will draw their usual number of 4 and 5 stars in the coming months. Clemson is not using the NIL to buy players, nor hitting the transfer portal to rob Peter to pay Paul. They are recruiting solid contributors that will be coached up and developed
