Recruiting: Spring Game Visitors List

The Clemson Tigers are gearing up for their annual spring game today, and with that, several top prospects will be on hand.

One of the top players in the country, brother of current Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, will be visiting for the first time since camping at Clemson last summer. Matayo Uiagalelei, 6-4 255, is considered one of the top prospects at two positions, edge rusher and tight end. On offense, he caught 24 passes for 335 yards and 6 touchdowns. Defensively, he registered 21 tackles, 6 tackles for loss and 3 sacks.

4-star Reid Mikeska is emerging as one of the top prospects at his position. The 6-6 235 tight end picked up a Clemson offer in early March, and totals 43 offers all together. Alabama, Auburn, and Michigan State are included in his many offers.

Texas 4-star OL Ian Reed will make the long trip for the spring game. Reed, 6-6 310, plays for Vandegrift High School in Austin, Texas. The big OL counts several big time programs among his 22 offers, including Alabama, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M. This will be Reed’s first visit to Clemson.

Big NC 4-star Offensive tackle Sullivan Absher will be on hand today. Absher, 6-7 290, is considered the #8 player in the 2023 in the state of NC and the #22 OT in the country. Clemson is among his 16 offers, and it’s being touted as a battle between the Tigers, Notre Dame, and North Carolina.

David Ojiegbe, a 2023 6-3 235 edge rusher, is ranked as the #2 player in the Washington, DC area. The 4-star Ojiegbe has already racked up 31 offers, expect a few more before it’s all said and done. The Tigers offered March 5th.

One of the top players in the state of Tennessee, CB Kaleb Beasley, will be attending the game today. Beasley, 6-0 170, is a 2024 prospect and rated as the #1 player in the state of Tennessee in his class. Oklahoma, LSU, and Arkansas are among Beasley’s 21 offers.

DT Jeremiah Beaman, 6-4 265, visited yesterday, April 8th. The 4-star defensive lineman has only 5 offers to date, but it includes Oklahoma (surprise surprise) and Mississippi State. As a sophomore for Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama, Beaman registered 41 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks.

3-star Safety, Bryce Thornton, picked up a CLemson offer 3/7/2022. The 5-10 185 two-way player picked up over 300 yards on offense with two touchdowns, and registered 18 tackles with 11 passes broken up and three interceptions. Alabama and Auburn are listed among Thornton’s 27 offers.

Another prospect of interest is Dutch Fork running back Jarvis Green. Green is flying under the radar and could surprise some people if given the chance. He put up the numbers in high school. The 5-11 190 RB racked up 1726 yards and 35 touchdowns last year. He added 33 catches for 448 yards and four more touchdowns. Green was named 1st team SC All-State.

Unheralded WR Nate Branch, 5-10 176, will make his way to the Valley for the game. Playing for Lower Richland High School in Hopkins, SC, he caught 30 passes for 827 yards and 10 touchdowns, adding two more touchdowns on punt returns.

Two local Daniel products will be at the spring game today. WR’s Eli Merck and Jaylen Brown-Wallace.Both of these guys really benefited from having Trent Perriman at quarterback. Merck, 6-1 180 had 74 receptions for 1,034 yards and 15 touchdowns. Brown-Wallace, 6-2 185, chipped in with 58 receptions for 958 yards and 11 touchdowns.

A hidden gem type-prospect might be 5-11 295lb 2024 prospect Omar Lopez out of Stockbridge, Georgia. Nicknamed “BIGBODYO”, Lopez managed 25 tackles, 1 tackle for loss and a sack.
