One on One with Justyn Ross

Freshman Justyn Ross is having a breakout freshman year, in his debut as a Clemson Tiger he scored a touchdown on a 15-yard catch-and-run in his college debut vs. Furman, recorded his first career 100-yard game against Georgia Southern that included a 57-yard touchdown and would score a 53-yard touchdown against Georgia Tech. Ross would become the first Clemson player since Artavis Scott to catch touchdown passes of 50 yards or more in back to back games.

Saturday, against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Ross had 74 receiving yards resulting in 1 touchdown from Trevor Lawrence. This season alone, Ross has 286 yards resulting in 4 touchdowns.

Q – We are halfway through your freshman season and it has been huge so far, you’ve impressed your coach and teammates. Talk about what it means to you to make an impact so early in your career.

Ross – It means a lot to me, just because this is a top 5 team that I am playing for and it almost seems unreal that I have this chance to make an impact for this team.

Q -What is it like being coached under Jeff Scott?

Ross – It’s great because he has seen a lot of players come and go and he knows what it takes to make it to the next level.

Q – It has been a rough couple of weeks for you guys with one thing happening after the other. Do you think that this BYE week is coming at a good time?

Ross – Of course, it gives us time to relax and let our hair down a little bit and prepare for the next half of the season.
