After Clemson’s 52-17 mauling of the Pitt Panthers on Saturday, Clemson starting QB Trevor Lawrence spoke with the media and answered numerous questions about his return to the field after over a month lay off. Lawrence was quick to discuss his teammates and play on the field and the welcome feeling of returning to the friendly confines of Death Valley and the grass turf of Memorial Stadium.

But it did not take long for the topic to change and questions about the nation’s top college prospects’ future. Lawrence answered questions leaving the door open for a potential return to the Tigers. Remember, a lot was on the table for Trevor as he started out the season as the Heisman front runner, only to see his standing drop considerably only due to his absence from the field over the past month. Never mind that others in the race have also missed games and to no such consequence. Don’t think that run down the hill as a “Senior” matters when you share with the media comments like… “You just never know it is (My Last Home Game), it was a fun one for sure. I’ve enjoyed it. This place has been good to me and my family, and I love it here. So whatever I decide to do it’s gonna be a tough decision because I love Clemson, I love the people”

Now the question is .. Does Trevor come back or leave for the NFL as this year’s top pick as expected? Dabo Swinney and Clemson have had the unusual ability to keep high round picks for their senior seasons. One needs to look no farther than examples like CJ Spiller, Christian Wilkins, Clelin Ferrell, and just this past season Travis Etienne. All these players were high round one picks that decided Pickens County and Clemson University was a better fit for that senior season. Who knows what the 6’6 Cartersville, Ga native is thinking.. But recent Comments in the past month and now these comments made just last evening following the game leave that door slightly cracked open.

Here we can’t see the Nations Best player to give up that chance at the #1 overall pick to possibly lose stock with an bad season or injury next year. But we thought similarly about past Tigers only to report their returns to Clemson for another season later.. So whatever TL16 decides to do here. He can’t lose.
