Charleston, SC native Michel Dukes joins the likes of Travis Etienne, Lyn-J Dixon at the position of running back this upcoming season. Obviously, Travis Etienne as the starter with Dixon as his backup. Dukes will be competing with Darien Rencher and fellow freshman, Chez Mellusi for that third string playing spot as the Tigers look to fill the spot left open by the transfer of Tavien Feaster.
247Sports ranked Dukes among the top 50 players in the nation and 13th in the state of South Carolina at any position. Rivals.com rated him as the no.21 player in the state while ESPN considered him to be the no.17 player in South Carolina.
Dukes completed his high school career with 685 carries for 8,762 rushing yards and 117 rushing touchdowns. Dukes also accounted for 34 receptions for 743 yards with nine touchdowns and led his team to an 11-2 record and a second runner-up finish among AAA schools during his senior year.
Dukes runs the ball extremely well and has eyes to find the open hole and bursting out of it. One should expect to see Dukes as running back throughout the season making big plays for the Tigers.
