Dabo Swinney Camp: Offer Summary

5 Star QB Jadyn Davis picked up a Clemson offer at camp this week

The Clemson Tigers have begun their yearly June “Offer Fest”, handing out 11 offers in the last couple of days. That makes their offer sheet reach 14 offers for the 2024 class. The Tigers are hosting a number of highly coveted prospects this weeked, June 3-5, and there will inevitably be several more after this writing.

For 2023, Clemson handed out 88 offers to prospective players. To date, the Tigers have picked up only four commitments so far, but that will change. It appears Clemson is done with 2023 offers, totally 88. Compare this number to Alabama (170), Georgia (222), Ohio State (135) and the statement “it just means more” is a reality. Schools like Tennessee (423) and Ole Miss (375) are in a league all to themselves.

On to 2024, the Tigers previously offered 5-star LB Sammy Brown (3/12/22), 5-star OL Hevin Brown-Shuler (4/9/22), and 5-star QB DJ Laway (5/31/22). One would think that simply offering one 5-star quarterback, Dabo would move on from the QB position. Not a chance.

2024 5-star QB Jayden Davis showed up on the first day of camp and showed why he is the top quarterback in this class. Rivals ranks Davis as the #1 Pro Style QB in the 2024 class, and the #4 player nationally. Playing his sophomore year at Catawba Ridge high school in Fort Mill, SC, in 2021, Davis completed 140-257 passes for 1,732 yards, 14 TDs and six interceptions. He has since transferred to Providence Day in Charlotte, NC. He finally got the Clemson offer he has been looking for, giving him 31 offers to date.

Big OL Kam Pringle plays in the southern part of the state for Woodland High School in Dorchester, SC. Pringle, a monster of a lineman at 6-7 315, is mentioned as one of the top players in the state of South Carolina if not the #1 player. 247 ranks him as the #7 OT in the country. Pringle has received 20+ offers to date and is a prime target for that school in the middle of the state, USC.

The #1 Athlete in the country, KJ Bolden, picked up his Clemson offer this week. The 5-star Bolden is ranked as the #3 player in the nation in the 2024 class, and the #1 player in the state of Georgia. He is coveted by every major program, and has picked up 35 offers to date.

Teammate 5-star edge rusher Eddrick Houston also picked up one of those “hard to get” Clemson offers. Houston, 6-3 210, is ranked as the 14th best player in the state of Georgia in the 2024 class and the #6 edge rusher in the country. To date, he has picked up 15 offers.

4-star LB Aaron Chiles is ranked as the 3rd best player in the state of Maryland and picked up his Clemson offer the first day of the Clemson camp. The Tigers are among his 28 offers. He also is considered the 10th best player at his position.

CB Noah Dixon of Lagrange, Georgia, picked up a Clemson offer on 6/1/22. The talented 4-star Dixon, 6-2 185, is rated the 16th best player at his position in the 2024 class. He last visited Clemson in March. Dixon has picked up 13 offers to date, but he still has two years of high school ball to play. That number will significantly increase between now and 2024.

4-star Offensive lineman Josiah Thompson landed his Clemson offer this week. The huge OL, 6-6 280, is ranked as the #1 player in the state of SC, and ranks #4 in the country at his position. This is another OL that’s going to be a battle between Clemson and USC.

4-star Jordan Mathews is another Clemson offer this week. Currently a Texas lean, Mathews hails from Baton Rouge, LA, and has picked up 29 offers. He is considered the #1 cornerback in the state of Louisiana.

Pinson, Alabama, CB Jayden Mbakwe, landed his 26th offer of the year as Clemson threw their name in the hat. The 4-star Mbakwe, 5-11 170, is ranked as the #1 player in the state of Alabama, the #3 CB in the country and the #8 player in the entire 2024 class. As a sophomore, he registered 11 tackles, 2 INTs and 6 passes defended. Mbakwe is a player to remember.

4-star CB Tavoy Feagin got the offer he has been looking for. The Clemson Tigers gave him what he has coveted. The 8th best at his position in the 2024 class, he has two years to improve on that ranking and with 47 offers already, the future is bright for this prospect.

Safety Mike Mathews wears two hats for Parkview high school as a safety and as a wide receiver. The 4-star Mathews, 6-3 180, projects to be a safety at the next level, currently ranked as the #1 safety in the country in the 2024 class and the #3 player in Georgia. He currently sports 24 offers.

Each of these offers means something. Clemson recruits differently than most, but other schools see the talent the same way. All of these prospects will have 25+ offers by the time 2024 gets here. Where will they go?
