CLEMSON, S.C. – For their second National Signing Day, Clemson Lacrosse signed eight to its 2023 class on November 9, 2022: Jazzy Stanton, Camryn Pfundstein, Kayla Macleod, Regan Byrne, Blair Byrne, Natalie Shurtleff, Anna Brown, and Alex Scialdone.
“We are very excited to welcome this group of amazing young women to Clemson” said Head Coach Allison Kwolek. “Each of them have proven to play significant roles with their high school and club programs. We’re looking forward to their arrival next year and seeing the impact they will have both on and off the field here at Clemson.”
Jazzy Stanton
Standout four sport athlete, Jazzy is an exciting addition to the Clemson Tigers squad. Jazzy was a playmaker in lacrosse, volleyball, and indoor/outdoor track at Century High School in Woodbine, Maryland. Three out of her four years in her high school career Jazzy earned first team all county (2019, 2020, 2021). She was a 2021 lacrosse state champion and a two time Regional Champion. Additionally, Jazzy played on the 2021 Under Armour 150 All Star Team and in 2022 played for the winning Baltimore team in the 2022 All America Showcase. In Volleyball, she served as team captain and helped lead the team to win the state championship in 2019 and be the state finalists in 2021. For indoor track, Jazzy made first team all county three times, was county champion seven times, regional champion four times and state champion twice.
Camryn Pfundstein
Midfielder from Annapolis, Maryland, Camryn is featured on the 2023 All-American Watchlist. Camryn was an All-American in high school and in her sophomore year at St. Mary’s High school, Camryn was the only sophomore to make IAAM All-Conference. She also was named second team All-County her sophomore and junior year, along with being named Notable High School Player of the Week and playing for the winning Baltimore team in the 2022 All America Showcase.
Kayla Macleod
Hailing from Roswell, Georgia, Kayla made First Team All-State and All-American twice in her high school career. Leading her team in goals and caused turnovers, Kayla was awarded Most Valuable Offensive player in 2021 and Player of the Year in 2022. Kayla was also named Divarsitys 2021 Player of the Year, ranked No. 3 in Shake School’s class of 2023. On top of that, Kayla made the South’s All-American team three times and was featured on the All-American game watchlist.
Regan Byrne
An attacker from Frederick, Maryland, Regan was on the ‘22 IAAM-A All-Conference Team. Reagan proved to be a key player on her high school team, Glenelg Country School, which finished the 2022 season third in the country. She was named as a ‘22 IAAM-A Finalist, ‘22 USA Lacrosse Notable Player, and ‘22 All-Met Honorable Mention. Additionally, Regan made 2nd team all-county in 2022 and played for the winning Baltimore team in the 2022 All America Showcase.
Blair Byrne
An Inside Lacrosse five star recruit, Blair joins the Tigers as a midfielder from Frederick, Maryland. Blair played midfield for Glenelg Country School, which finished the 2022 season third in the country. Blair’s name is featured in the 2021 Inside Lacrosse Women’s Class of 2023 Top 20 Watchlist and was on the winning Baltimore team in the 2022 All America Showcase
Natalie Shurtleff
Mid-Atlantic Player of the Year, Natalie Shurtleff hails from Cockeysville, Maryland and was a standout midfielder at St. Paul’s School for Girls. In 2022, Natalie played for the winning Baltimore team in the 2022 All America Showcase. Natalie also led her high school team up to become the No. 1 ranked team in the country.
Anna Brown
All-American Anna Brown is a Midfielder from Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Anna was named Notable National High School Player of the Week, All Ches-Mont League first team, All-Philly Lacrosse First Team, and USA 15U Select Team. A fun fact about Anna is her mom coached Head Coach Allison Kwolek at William & Mary.
Alex Scialdone
Attacker Alex Scialdone is joining Clemson from Yorktown Heights, New York. In 2022, Alex made the NTDP U-18 Team USA Select Combine, Section One All League, and HM Section One All Section. Additionally, Alex was an Under Armor All America National Champion in 2020.
