Clemson 2022 Defensive Back Recruiting: What if?

WHAT IF?…

All year long, all we heard from fans, both Clemson and opposing teams, was how bad Clemson’s secondary was. This assumption was based on the last game where Justin Fields lit them up. No matter starting safety Nolan Turner missed the first half because of a questionable spearing call. No matter that OC Tony Elliott missed the game, throwing the offense out of sync. Nope, it was all on the secondary. So, what to do?

Recruit. Recruit. Coach. Recruit. Every secondary player in the 3 deep aside from Derion Kendrick returns. There are some very good, solid players returning. Most expect this to be a pretty good secondary.

Freshman Nate Wiggins and Andrew Mukuba are future talents, but this Clemson secondary is going to be one of the best, and these two guys are going to be fighting their way up the depth chart. Don’t believe me, it’s ok.

Regarding 2022 recruiting, there is a HUGE “What If” regarding the secondary. There are two cornerbacks and two safeties HIGH on the Tiger “hit list”. What if…….all four committed to Clemson. What would that mean to this Tiger secondary?

CBs Jeadyn Lukus (4-star) and Toriano Pride, Jr. (4-star) and Safeties Sherrod Covil (4-star) and Keon Sabb (5-star) bring instant talent onto the scene. This would be one of the best if not THE best freshman secondary classes in the country.

The TIgers handed out 20 offers to secondary prospects in the 2022 class. They will lose only two (possibly three if Booth was to leave). If they are able to add those four to the class, reload is the best word I can think of.

What if.
