Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, it does. Yesterday, big DT Payton Page committed to Clemson. Today, even bigger OT Dietrick Pennington threw his talents to the tigers, committing to Clemson.
The 6-5 326 guard is ranked by ESPN as the 9th best guard in the nation in the 2021 class, and the 6th best player in the state of Tennessee. He had narrowed down his choices to five schools: Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Auburn and Florida State.
Pennington becomes the 15th commitment for Clemson in the 2021 class, who is currently ranked 6th in the country, according to ESPN, and jumped to 3rd by 247.
He last visited Clemson in January 2020 for Clemson’s junior day, and in September 2019 prior to that. Needless to say, the Clemson culture and the ability to put guys into the NFL was a draw.
He played his high school ball at Evangelical Christian in Cordova, Tennessee, playing on both sides of the ball. . When a player like this leaves your state, it hurts. More to come on this big Volunteer state product.
