Women’s Golf Selected as Six Seed at Stillwater NCAA Regional
Clemson, S.C. – The Clemson women’s golf team was one of 12 teams selected for the Stillwater Regional at the Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla. The 54-hole event will take place from May 9-11 with the top four teams and two individuals from each regional site advancing to the NCAA Championship set to be played at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. from May 20-25.
With the Tigers earning the 6-seed it marks the seventh time in eight opportunities that the team has earned a regional selection. The Tigers finished 10th of 18 teams in the Columbus Regional in Columbus, Ohio in 2021.
The 2022 Division I NCAA women’s golf season will have six regional sites for the first time in its history. That means 12 teams and six individuals will be featured at each regional site.
Regional play for the 2022 Division I Women’s Golf Championship will be held at the following sites:

Clemson has finished in the top-10 in all of its spring events and has been led by freshman Melena Barrientos, who enters the postseason with a 73.63 stroke average. Senior Callista Rice is the only Tiger to participate in all nine tournaments this season, with a stroke average of 75.15.
Each of the six regional sites will include 12 teams and six individuals competing, with the top four teams (24 teams total) and the low two individuals (12 individuals total) not on an advancing team from each regional site advancing the national championships at Grayhawk.
