Tigers Take Out Boston College In ACC Play

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson University men’s basketball got back in the win column on Saturday afternoon with an 89-78 victory over Boston College.

The Tigers (12-4, 2-3 ACC) were led by PJ Hall (Spartanburg, S.C./Dorman) and Joseph Girard III (Glens Falls, N.Y./Glens Falls) who each scored 26 points. It marked the first time two Tigers have scored 25+ points in a game since Jan. 28, 2023 at Florida State (Hunter Tyson, 27; Chase Hunter, 26).

Hall added his third double-double of the season and 10th of his career with 11 boards. Girard surpassed Duke’s Trajan Langdon on the ACC’s all-time 3-point field goal list and now is fourth with 343 career threes.

RJ Godfrey (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett) netted 11 points, while Ian Schieffelin (Loganville, Ga./Grayson) and Chauncey Wiggins (Grayson, Ga./Grayson) each scored seven.

The Tigers and Eagles played a close opening stanza until a 10-4 run by Clemson closed the first period with a nine-point lead at half, 44-35.

It was much of the same in the second half as Clemson pushed its lead to a game-high 19 points on two occasions before settling for the 11-point victory.

Forty-four of Clemson’s points came in the paint and they received 16 from its bench in the contest.

Clemson returns to the court for a late tip time against Georgia Tech on Tuesday, Jan. 16 in Littlejohn Coliseum. Tip time is set for 9 p.m.
