Tigers Fall to Dawgs 5-3

After a weekend sweep against Virginia Tech, the Tigers were back in action against the #4 Georgia Bulldogs after two weeks without playing a game in Doug Kingsmore. The Tigers would end up falling short to the Bulldogs 5-3. This is the third consecutive time that the Tigers have fallen to Georgia.

The game would get started with a two-run homer by Aaron Schunk in the top of the first inning.

Georgia would add to their lead in the top of the fourth inning as the Dawgs would pull ahead by two more runs. This would cause Monte Lee to make a pitching change, replacing Brooks Crawford with Owen Griffith.

Clemson would remain scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning, when Davis Sharpe would hit a solo homerun to cut the Dawgs lead to three.

The freshman would score two of the Tigers three runs; a homerun and on a sac-fly from Jordan Greene. Logan Davidson would bring the Tigers third run in who, in the fourth inning broke up the no hitter with a single to left field.

This was the first game of two that the Tigers would be squaring off with the 4th ranked Bulldogs in. The next game is scheduled for the 16th this month.

The Tigers will head into the weekend with the series with Louisville. The Tigers and Louisville are tied for second in the Atlantic behind NC State who is 10-2.
