Durham,NC- The Clemson Tigers opened up ACC play at Duke, Saturday in a primetime match up. In an electric atmosphere, the Blue Devils applied pressure on the Tigers early and the Blue Devils were able to get up on the board first with a dunk from Freshman Phenom, Zion Williamson, a South Carolina native. The Tigers were not going to give up, the Tigers held on to the Devils throughout the first half but quickly started to fall apart after half First Half Elijah Thomas lead the way for the Tigers in the first half, Thomas scored 10 points for the Tigers. Aamir Simms 6 rebounds, Marquise Reed with 2 assists. The Tigers are shooting at 50% and making 14-28 and shooting at 75% with three-pointers compared to Dukes 27%. However, in the first half, the Tigers free throw shooting stands at 40%. The Tigers only made 2-5 free throws compared to Duke who shot at 63% making 5-8. The Tigers had 10 turnovers in the first half when they are averaging 14 per game. Duke managed to score 12 points on the Tigers turnovers. Second Half It was a tale of two halves’, the Blue Devils came out hot scoring 12 points in the first four minutes of the second half.
The Tigers looked lost coming into the second half and the Blue Devils absolutely run Clemson up and down the court because of it. David Skara finally got the Tigers on the board as he nailed a three pointer. Reed lead the Tigers in the second half with 15 points, Aamir Sims with 10 rebounds and Marquise Reed had 2 assists. The Tigers have so much room for improvement, something needs to be done or the Tigers are looking down a long stretch of ACC play this season. The Tigers will face Syracuse on the 9th and will then welcome #4 Virginia to Tigertown that Saturday. The Tigers now move to 10-4 on the season. As they now head to Syracuse for a mid week ACC match up with the Orange.

Clemson will return to the court on Wednesday, Jan. 9 when it travels to Syracuse for a 8 p.m. tipoff from the Carrier Dome.
