Yes, Felicia, football season is right around the corner. Clemson fans can not WAIT to get this party started. The Tigers take on Georgia September 4th in Charlotte. Clemson recently picked up a commitment from a 5-star cornerback, and yes, unofficial visits continue.
As mentioned before, 2023 5-star CB AJ Harris out of Phoenix City, Alabama, will be making his 2nd visit in 10 days. There is more.
4-star OL Harris Sewell (6-4 290) out of Odessa, Texas, is making his way to Death Valley today. Sewell is rated as the #2 OL in the country in the 2023 class, and the #11 player in the state of Texas, as well as the #1 OG in the nation. He holds 22 offers so far but that number will likely grow.
3-star LB Joshua Josephs, 6-3 215, out of Kennesaw, Georgia, will also be in Tiger town making an unofficial visit. Josephs has received 26 offers to date and ranks as the 55th best player in the state of Georgia. His most recent offer came from the Auburn Tigers.
4-star TE Benji Gosnell visited yesterday, 29 July. Gosnell, 6-5 240, out of Pilot Mountain, NC, recently decommitted from Ohio State and opened up his recruiting. He had committed in November 2020, but decided against the Buckeyes a few days ago. He had officially visiting Ohio State on June 4th. Look for UNC and NCST push this talented TE to stay closer to home.
The #1 TE in the 2023 class paid Clemson a visit today, Luke Gasz. Gasz, 6-3 220, is out of Bixby, Oklahoma, and is reportedly a lean towards….ahem….Oklahoma. No surprise here, but for today, he is Clemson for an unofficial visit. With 2 years of high school ball left, he currently has 32 offers. It will be a battle for his services for sure.
4-star DT Keith Sampson, Jr. made the trip from New Bern, NC, for an unofficial visit to Tigertown. Sampson, 6-3 285, is currently ranked as the 6th player in the state of North Carolina in the 2023 class. He has 16 offers to date, but that number will surely grow.
4-star WR Braylon James made an unofficial visit to Clemson today. The 2023 WR out of Del Valle, Texas, is currently ranked as the 23rd best wide receiver in the country, but with two more years to prove himself, expect his ranking to rise quickly. The 6-2 175 James hauled in 39 passes for 419 yards and 5 touchdowns his sophomore season. He is up to 33 offers already, expect more.
Visits will continue through the month of August and then you get into Game Day visits. The Clemson-Georgia game should see a number of visitors as two of the best teams in the country kick it off on September 4th.
