Peach State Linebacker Receives Clemson Offer

Top Georgia Backer Receives Clemson Offer

By : Neil Burnett

One of the top OLB’s in the country picked up a rare Clemson offer yesterday. Rare in that Clemson is known for being chincy with offers lately. Martin, 6-3 190, enters his junior coming off an outstanding sophomore year in which he helped lead his Marietta High School to the 7A Georgia State Championship. He finished 3rd on the team in tackles with 74, 12 tackles for loss, and one sack. Without question, Martin is one of the leaders returning for Marietta.

Martin currently ranks as the 5th best OLB in the country in the 2022 class. He is ranked as the 6th best player in the state of Georgia. To date, Martin has 13 offers, but with two years left to play, and his potential to grow and gain experience, that list will grow. If there is one thing the Clemson staff knows, it’s talent evaluation. Martin becomes the 3rd Clemson offer at OLB and the 24trh overall offer for the tigers in the 2022 class. In contrast, the other three teams from the college football playoffs are a little more loose in their offers. Ohio State has 67, LSU with 142, and Oklahoma with 87. A lot of it has to do with scholarships available for the 2022 class.
