After handing out three football offers earlier in the day, Clemson continued with offers to six more outstanding prospects, five on the defensive side of the ball.
The lone offer on the offensive side of the ball is Texas 3-star tight end Reid Mikeska. Mikeska, 6-5 230 out of Cypress, Texas, has seen is stock rise of late and the Tigers didn’t disappoint on his visit this weekend. He led Cypress High School to an 11-3 record, hauling in 80 passes for 1031 yards and 17 touchdowns. Great numbers, especially for a tight end. Somehow, he is ranked as the 23rd best tight end in the country…….with 35 offers. Go figure.
4-star Cornerback, Braeden Marshall, landed his 22nd offer from the Tigers. Marshall, 5-10 170, ranks as the 31st best CB in the country in the 2023 class and played his high school ball with Lake Mary high school in Lake Mary, Florida. He registered 28 tackles, two tackles for loss and three interceptions last year.
Edge rusher David Ojiegbe out of Washington, DC, picked up a Clemson offer, his 31st. The 6-3 235 DE is ranked as the #2 player in the DC, and the #17 edge rusher in this class. St. Johns High School finished the season 11-0 and ranked #1 in the DC area.
3-star Cornerback Colton Hood, 6-1 175, was offered and is an NFL legacy. Hood’s uncle, Roderick Hood, played 8 seasons in the NFL after leaving Auburn university. As a junior, Hood played both ways. On offense, his lone rush was for 49 yards and a touchdown. He also caught 22 passes for 340 yards and five more touchdowns. Defensively, he picked off 7 passes. He now has 22 offers.
3-star Safety, Robert Billings, 6-1 185, landed his Clemson offer and now has 11 offers. The Alpharetta, Georgia, native played for Milton High School and racked up 66 tackles and five interceptions, leading his team to a 13-2 record in the highest classification in Georgia. His offer list should grow and so should his “star” ranking.
Linebacker Tony Rojas is the 5th Clemson offer on the defensive side of the ball in the late afternoon/evening offers. Rojas, 6-3 200, is ranked as the #5 player in the state of Virginia and the #27 LB in the 2023 class. Rojas has picked up 24 offers so far, and is considered a lean towards Penn State.
The March 5th Junior Day has produced 9 offers to date, 8 on the defensive side of the ball. In total, the Tigers have offered 67 prospects in the 2023 class. Compare this number to Alabama (141), Georgia (198), Tennessee (385) and South Carolina (208), Clemson offers still mean more.
Look for more information on the next big prospect weekend, March 12th.
