Dabo Swinney Sunday Teleconference

Dabo Swinney spoke with the media on Sunday evening to discuss the Tigers 52-10 victory on Saturday evening inside Memorial Stadium. Coach Swinney also previewed the upcoming game with UNC to be held in Chapel Hill, NC on next Saturday at 3:30PM.

Coach Swinney opened with: “Started with our crowd, a lot of energy in the stadium, really fun game, played 111 guys, cool thing to be a part of… “

Offensively: “explosive .. 100% in redzone, 6 Yards per carry rush… did have one sack, that was on Chase”

Defensively: “Preparation really good all week, they did run the ball a little better than we wanted… Sacks, TFL’s ..pick six”

Special Teams: “good to see Will have a good punt, KO coverage was good… definitely something we can grow from”

RB’s Dukes and Mellusi : “great to get them some playing time.. works in progress.. working real hard and getting better.. both are guys we are trying to get ready.. we could need them down the road in the season”

UNC: “Just a few plays from being 4-0… had a big win to open the season.. good tough loss to wake…. gotten behind a couple of times but came back… pretty easy to see his (Mac Brown) influence on the program.

On Sam Howell: he’s a player that one, a competitor, savvy, can run and make all the throws.. natural leader.. plays the game with a little edge to him. he’s got good size but has great toughness with it.. will to win.. gonna be a really good player for several years there in Chapel Hill.”
