Clemson vs North Carolina State: By the numbers, ACC Tourney edition
After a huge and must needed win over Syracuse saturday, Clemson heads to Charlotte for a run in the ACC men’s basketball tournament. Clemson enters into the tournament as the 9th seed and will face 8th seed NC State, Wednesday at noon.
Clemson faced North Carolina earlier in the season and would be the first of four close games for the Tigers this season. Marquise Reed led the Tigers all over the board that night. Reed scored 19 of the Tigers points, accounted for 8 rebounds and had 2 assists. Clemson, however, would fall after a 3-point buzzer beating shot from Braxton Beverly that would hand the Wolfpack the victory.
North Carolina State comes into the game with a 21-10 overall record and are coming into the matchup averaging 81.0 points a game, 38.7 rebounds a game, 15.6 assists and allow their opponents to score an average of 70.5 points a game.
Offensively, the Wolfpack is led by Torin Dorn, who scores an average of 13.7 points a game and shoots at 47.7%. Markell Johnson has 4.2 assists per game and Ian Steere has the highest field goal percentage on the team at 100.0% but only averages 4.0 points per game.
