Coach Dabo Swinney and staff are preparing for the ACC Championship game, but that doesn’t stop them from offering some of the best talent in the country in the meantime.
The Tigers went into Spearman, Texas, and gave out an offer to athlete Brenen Thompson. Thompson already has 32 offers to date, including those from most Power 5’s you know; Alabama, Oklahoma, Auburn and many more.
The 2022 talent is currently ranked as the 7th ranked “athlete” in the country in his class and the 12th highest player in the state of Texas. That’s pretty elite considering the number of players in that state.
At Spearman High School. Thompson did a little bit of everything, hence earning the athlete tag, playing wide receiver, quarterback and on the defensive side of the ball at cornerback. He also runs track, competing in the 100 meters, 200 meters and the long jump.
Thompson becomes only the 44th offer for Clemson in the 2022 class. To date, the Tigers have gotten two commitments for this class, offensive linemen Blake Miller and Collin Sadler. In comparison, the other three teams in the CFP, Alabama (166), Ohio State (88) and Notre Dame (114) spread a broader blanket.
