Clemson Dominates BC and gets 4th Straight Atlantic Division Title

Clemson came into this game ranked # 2 in the latest College Football Playoff polls and leading the Atlantic Division of the ACC.  The Tigers looking for their 4th consecutive division title and looking to punch its ticket to Charlotte for the ACC Championship game on December 1st. 

 

The First Quarter saw the Tigers take the opening kick and drive it downfield on an impressive drive only to be stopped inside the redone.  The Tigers forced to settle for a field goal took a 3-0 lead in the game.  BC then was unable to move the ball and forced to punt to the Tigers, then with 6:22 left in the quarter the Tigers punted away and Michael Walker took the punt and marched 74 yards for a BC touchdown and thrust the Eagles into the lead at 7-3.

 

Clemson then managed to put together a drive late in the first quarter.  A drive they later capped off with a Trevor Lawrence to Milan Richard touchdown pass of 2 yards on 4th down. Clemson led 10-7 with 1:28 in the quarter. 

 

The Tigers than in the 2nd quarter forced BC to punt yet again added a Huegel field goal for the 13-7 lead at 11:45 in the 2nd.  The half would end with the Tigers heading to the locker room with a 13-7 lead on the Eagles. 

 

In the second half, the Tigers forced a three and out on the Eagles opening drive and subsequently drove the ball 56 yards on 8 plays leading to a Trevor Lawrence touchdown run putting the Tigers up 20-7 with 11:56 left in the third.  The rest of the quarter was spent exchanging punts and ended with Clemson up 20-7. 

 

In the fourth, the Tigers added an Amari Rodgers punt return of 58 yards for a touchdown and the score was then Clemson 27 BC 7.  That is the way it would end as the Eagles were only able to muster 113 total yards in the contest and the lone score coming from special teams play.  The Final from Chestnut Hill Clemson 27 Boston College 7   With the win Clemson and head coach Dabo Swinney have attained the 10 win mark for the eighth consecutive season, 

 

Clemson returns to Death Valley next week to close out ACC regular season play in a 7pm Match up with the Duke Blue Devils.
