CLEMSON, S.C. – Dillon Hunter (Atlanta, Ga./Westlake) scored a career-high 15 points in Clemson University men’s basketball’s 79-51 win over Radford on Thursday night in Littlejohn Coliseum.
The Tigers (4-1) were led by Chauncey Wiggins’ (Grayson, Ga./Grayson) 16 points, while Hunter added 15, Ian Schieffelin (Atlanta, Ga./Grayson) nearly totaled another double-double finishing with 14 points and nine rebounds and Chase Hunter (Atlanta, Ga./Westlake) added 10.
Clemson limited Radford to just 17 made field goals on 30.9 percent shooting from the floor and 20.0 percent shooting from three (4-20).
In the opening stanza, the Tigers built a double-digit lead and kept it at 12 points when Chase Hunter hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to end the period with the Tigers leading 38-26.
The Tigers pushed its lead to over 20 points midway through the second half, before leading by a game-high 31 toward the end of regulation. Clemson scored 20 points off 11 Radford turnovers.
Four Tigers made multiple 3-pointers in the contest, helping Clemson shoot 47.8 percent from beyond the arc.
Clemson returns to the court in Daytona Beach, Fla. when the Tigers take on San Francisco in the opening game of the 2024 Sunshine Slam. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
