As we head into the second signing and traditional signing day of February 3rd.  The Tigers are looking to close strong and finish off one of the mosts talent laden signing classes in School and ACC history.  With 15 Commits already signed and ready to enroll or already enrolled.  The Tigers look to add a Quality Wide Receiver, an additional Offensive Lineman and Defensive back to the final 2018 numbers.

At present the biggest pool of candidates comes from the defensive side of the ball.  As the Tigers are still in it with arguably the nation’s top DB in Florida product Patrick Surtain Jr.   Surtain keeps things in recruiting real close to the vest and he and his NFL Veteran Father discuss all things recruiting back home in Ft Lauderdale. His father was unable to attend the Clemson visit due to being honored at this weekend’s NFL Pro Bow; game.

On this past weekend’s Clemson visit Surtain and his mother were shown the proverbial “Orange Carpet” and sent Patrick home with a lot to think about in his recruitment and where Clemson now stands.  The Clemson staff felt confident as he departed they had given the Family and recruit more than enough to keep Clemson relevant until Swinney can do his in home later in the week.

The Tigers just hosted late blooming, and really getting a lot of traction mid west and Missouri resident Mario Goodrich.  Goodrich who just was offered in the past month is a fast rising mid west DB that is getting a lot of offers from Power 5 ‘s all over the nation.  WIth offers pouring in from the likes of Georgia, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa,Missouri, Oklahoma, NCST and Florida among a larger list.  Now add the Tigers and it’s .

Goodrich just officially visited with his entire family in tow over the weekend and left with the Tigers now ascending to his top spot from all we have gathered.  Staff has quickly seized on that momentum and followed that up with an In home this week already adding a stop by his High School with Head Coach Dabo Swinney, Defensive Co Ordinator Brent Venables and Mike Reed All there in attendance on site.

And the Tigers are still “in it” with Texas native Leon O’Neal Jr.  After a fleeting moment post visit where the Tigers were beginning to believe they had pulled ahead of in state Texas A&M.  But A&M quickly worked on damage control post the Clemson visit and it’s back to A&M with a lead over the Tigers as we see it from intel we have gathered.  O’Neal could still surprise a lot of folks and pick the Tigers.  But we think the tug from the instate A&M and ties to the family and Leon’s mentors to be too much.  But we still have a little over a week to go. Its Recruiting and its never done til the Fax has been sent and received on Signing Day. So with that said, We continue to track all of these kids until next week!
