Chat With the Hat visits 4 Paws Clemson

Clemson, SC

The Hat and Joe Bostic starting the show

Episode 6 of the live edition of the ‘Chat with the Hat’ made its appearance this week, this version of the show moved to 4 Paws American Pub located in Clemson at the Corner of 93 and 123. Bill and his crew showed the CSN staff some great hospitality as we set up and produced the show. The staff at 4 Paws is attentive and excellent at their jobs as we were always with fresh drink and attended to. Cannot thank Bill, Matt, Hunter and all the staff there for all they do.

The Hat brought in as his special guest none other than former Tiger and NFL veteran and Clemson legend Joe Bostic. Bostic who roamed the campus and the field at Memorial Stadium from 1975-1978 saw the Tigers morph in front of him from a 3-6-2 team in 1976, to the 8-2-1 team in 1977 that turned the program around for good , Since 1977 Clemson has since become the dominant team in the ACC football wise. Joe also spent 11 season in the NFL with the St Louis Cardinals. In an era when you were drafted and stayed with the same team for your career. A time before free agency entered professional sports.

Bostic was able to recall details of his time in Clemson playing for 2 coaches during his tenure in Tiger Town. Coach Red Parker recruited and coached Bostic and his brother Jeff (also Former NFL Star) until the end of the 1976 season when a coaching change brought in Charley Pell to finish out Bostic’s time in Tiger-Town as Clemson’s coach.

And folks let me tell you, if you want the kind of service you expect in a locally owned business. Bill Lanham and his family of staff were beyond hospitable, and the food was absolutely scrumptious. Add to that the “Pound-Cake” man supplies Bill with his amazing cakes as their feature desert and folks “OMG!” you just gotta.

Dean and Joe had an awesome time as well, both of them exclaimed over an over how this is the kind of hospitality Clemson is known for. Look for the Chat with the Hat to return to 4 Paws on the Thursday night prior to Texas A&M. And as always look toward ClemsonSportsNews for all your Tiger info and intel on a daily basis.
