The Clemson Tigers picked up their 2nd commitment of the day, reeling in 4-star Cornerback Daylen Everette out of the IMG Academy. Earlier, Everett’s teammate, Keon Sabb, made his commitment to the Tigers.
Everette, 6-1 185, was a bit of a surprise as a lot of sites had him a heavy lean towards UNC. That did not happen for Mack Brown. He is ranked as the 7th best corner in the country in the 2022 class and the 6th best player in the state of Florida. Everette picked the Tigers over UNC, Florida State, Georgia and Alabama.
The talented cornerback picked off 11 passes as a sophomore while playing for Norview High School in Norfolk, VA, before transferring to the IMG Academy last season.
Everette joins current IMG teammates S Keon Sabb and DE Jihaad Campbell in committing to the Tigers. Clemson is putting together what could be the best secondary class in the country when all is said and done.
The Tigers may not be done yet in the secondary. 4-star Mauldin, SC, native, Jeadyn Lukus, is scheduled to announce his intentions on July 28th, his mother’s birthday. This appears to also be a battle between UNC and Clemson as Mack Brown wants to lock down the state of North Carolina and still venture into SC to get one of the best players in the sandlapper state. He may once again come up short.
Clemson now has 10 commits in the 2022 class, which includes nine 4-star players and one 3-star kicker. This class is slow to build, but that is the “Dabo Way.” Prior to these two commitments, the Tigers were ranked 33rd in the country and 5th in the ACC. After these two, Clemson will jump to 13th, and if Lukus were to fall to the Tigers, will move up to 9th. There is a lot more to come to this 2022 class.
