Halloween weekend and finally, the 5th ranked Clemson Tigers have a much needed bye week to rest and heal. However, the coaches never stop and that includes recruiting.
Today, 3-star CB Misun “Tink” Kelley from nearby Daniel High School gave the Tigers his pledge to play football in the real Death Valley. Kelley is a two-way player, playing wide receiver on the offense and cornerback on the defense. In 7 games with Daniel this year, Kelley has 27 receptions for 389 yards and three TDs. He has missed the last three games due to injury, but is ready to pick back up where he left off next week.
He has helped lead his team to a 10-0 record this year, a record Daniel is used to. In the last three years, the Lions have a 34-0 record with two straight state championships, working on a third.
Kelley, 5-11 177, had previously committed to Virginia Tech, but somewhere along the line, he decided to decommit. The Tigers wasted no time in offering Kelley the very next day. “I decommitted from Virginia Tech because I wanted to play wide receiver and be a part of something bigger. I prefer the offensive side of the ball because I’m naturally better,” Kelley shared with us shortly before his commitment to the Tigers.
The Tigers are currently sitting 10th in the country in recruiting but with Kelley and a couple of others that are leaning towards Clemson, they could move up a couple of spots.
