Clemson picked up commitment #14 Last week in the form of Tight End Davis Allen out of Calhoun, GA. The peach state native picked the Tigers after a stop and stay in the 2nd session of Dabo Swinney’s annual high school skills camp.
C-S-N had the chance to speak with Davis and got his thoughts on his commitment and much more.
We asked Davis first off, what made you decide to go ahead and pull the trigger now and end your recruitment ? Davis replied “After Wednesday my dad told me to just take everything and let all settle down and then go from there and that’s what I did and I just knew Clemson is the right fit for me. ”
We then asked the peach state product why Clemson? and what stood out most during visit to campus, his response was the following . . .
“Clemson just had that home feeling and the whole thing sold my parents and it definitely sold me. Couldn’t ask for a better fit for my family and I.”
” I think what stood out the most was how the coaches have a different and unique perspective on things. It’s more than just football at Clemson and all of the coaches are just down to earth type people which I love.”
Next we asked the newest Tiger commit . . . what message did you receive from coach Danny Pearman at camp that made you decide to play for him?
“Coach Pearman just said I checked off all the boxes and thought I would be a really good fit there and I love how he wants a true relationship past football with his players and that’s what I want.”
Davis how did you commit to the Tigers whom did you reach out too and what was their response to your commitment ?
” I called coach Streeter, coach Pearman, and coach Swinney and told them each I wanted to commit and they said they were fired up and were ready to get this thing going.”
What are your plans now as far as the 2019 recruiting class… and Clemson. ? Are you done with visits and camps ?
“I only plan visiting Clemson from here on out. I don’t plan doing any more camps. I’m all Clemson”
