#2 Clemson vs Texas A&M Friday Final Thoughts:

Clemson departed today for College Station today at high noon from the Alan Reeve’s football operations center.  The Tigers are en route towards a lone star state showdown in front of 102,000 live fans inside of Kyle Field.  Joining the crowd in the stadium, will be a national television audience  live nationwide via ESPN.

Saturday’s game is slotted for “prime time” with an air time of 7pm EST set for the potentially rain soaked venue.  The elements of weather are potentially a factor for Saturday’s game as Hurricane Florence is passing over the area in the next 24 hours.  Florence is expected to dump rain from late Friday through game time on Saturday Night.

If the elements indeed do create a sloppy field of play,  look for the team that can establish the run game … to then  take control this game.  With turnovers and ball security being the two major factors for success in such bad weather conditions. The team that can control the clock and take care of the football will have an advantage.  These types of conditions could affect the pass game and limit any “big plays”.  The weather is the one unknown that both teams will soon have to deal with on Saturday.

“Defense Travels” and Clemson’s very veteran unit of defenders in either case, good weather or bad, will be the unit that determines how A&M will fair on this evening. Clemson’s talent level and experience on the defensive line, when matched up against a very young inexperienced Aggie offensive line does not add up to a good night for the Aggies offense.  Let’s just say it may be a long night for Kellen Mond and company.
