Volunteer State QB All Set For Decision

Ty Simpson, a newly anointed 5-star quarterback out of Martin, Tennessee, will be committing to his school of choice at 2pm Central this Friday at his high school. He has narrowed down his choices to three schools; Clemson, Alabama and Tennessee.

It’s well known that Simpson loves the SEC. Of course he does, he lives in SEC territory. Word is that he really liked Jeremy Pruitt, but then Pruitt was released from Tennessee. That could have put a sour taste in his mouth and moved him towards Clemson and Alabama. Simpson also indicated how much he really liked the Clemson culture, and it has been reported that former Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence reached out to the talented Simpson.

According to a Sports Illustrated article, “He actually called me one time,” Simpson said. “It was a Georgia number and I thought it was a spam call, but of a sudden, it was ‘Hey Ty, it’s Trevor Lawrence,’ and I was like, “Holy crap, I’m talking to the future No. 1 overall pick.’. It was really cool. “I asked him, ‘Why did he go to Clemson’ and ‘Why didn’t you stay in the SEC?’ and ‘How was your walk with Christ there?’. I told him I appreciated what he does from his platform, showing kids like my brother, who is a diehard Clemson fan, and how a quarterback should act,” Simpson said. “I just appreciate him and he gave me some good advice. Some things I didn’t realize, so it was cool to talk to him.”

Simpson would be the key piece to the Clemson 2022 recruiting class. He would be coming in during current Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei’s junior year. Quarterback has become a bevy of 5-stars leading the team, and 2022 would not be any different.”

At the time of this article, we project Simpson to pick The Tide and Clemson will go another direction. We shared this in regards to Clemson recruiting efforts and it’s never over til’ it’s over per se.
