Clemson vs Wake Forest Game Two

After taking game one of the series, the Tigers were back in action against Wake Forest. Grayson Byrd continued his streak as he hit his eighth homerun in the past 11 games to give the Tigers their 4-3 victory last night.

Jacob Hennessy took to the mound for the Tigers as the starting pitcher.

Wake Forest, however, would get out to an early 1-0 lead on a Bobby Seymour RBI. Clemson would have the bases loaded but would avoid disaster after two back to back strikeouts.

Michael Greene’s RBI double would send Kyle Wilkie and Bryar Hawkins across the plate to give Clemson the 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second. A Chad Fairey single would send Michael Greene across the plate to extend the lead 3-1 with no outs. Bats would continue to be hot with a Bryce Teodosio RBI single that would send Fairey across home for a 4-1 lead. Clemson would put up five runs in the second inning to take a 5-1 lead.

Grayson Byrd’s hot streak would continue as he hit his 14th home run of the season, this time a two-run home run to extend the Tigers lead 7-1 in the bottom of the fourth. On a double steal, Bryar Hawkins would steal home and Michael Greene would steal second to extend the lead 8-1.

Wake Forest would fight their way back but the Tigers would hold on to edge the Demon Deacons 10-9.
