Tigers Sign Kinsley Barrington to 2024-25 Roster

CLEMSON, S.C. – Head Women’s Basketball Coach Shawn Poppie has announced the signing of transfer forward Kinsley Barrington.

A six-foot tall grad student from Vineyard, Utah, Barrington comes to Clemson following her first couple of collegiate seasons at Southern Utah, and most recently a two-year stint at Cal Baptist.

Last season on a Lancer team that won the WAC regular season and tournament titles, Barrington averaged career highs of 11 points per game, five rebounds per game, 1.9 assists per game while shooting 44% from the floor. Barrington started every game for the Lancers who advanced to the NCAA tournament. In the tournament, Barrington tallied a line of 18 points, three rebounds, three steals, and one assist against UCLA. On March 7 last season, Barrington scored a career-high 23 points against Texas-Arlington in CBU’s 91-75 victory. She scored in double figures on 18 different occasions last season, including a stretch where she recorded 10 or more points in 14 of the Lancers’ last 15 games.

Barrington comes to Clemson with one season of eligibility left. The Tiger roster now has 17 student-athletes.

POPPIE’S THOUGHTS

Kinsley is the final puzzle piece to Team 50. As a true stretch forward who plays with toughness, she checked off all of the boxes. She has the ability to shoot the three, post up against mismatches, and plays with great tenacity. Kinsley is a winner, just like many of our transfers, she has NCAA tournament experience. I’m excited to get Kinsley on campus soon to join a group that has been working extremely hard this summer.
