Clemson lost a double-overtime game on Saturday to #4 Notre Dame. On Sunday, Coach Dabo Swinney did not sit around and dwell on the game. He will, in fact, be thinking about the next game, Florida State, after a much needed bye week. Additionally, he and his staff does not stop recruiting.
2022 Safety prospect Xavier “X” Nwankpa announced he had received an offer from the Tigers. Nwankpa plays his high school football for Southeast Polk in Altoona, Iowa. He is the #2 ranked player in the state of Iowa and the 10th ranked safety in the 2022 class.
Here is what National Recruiting Analyst, Allen Trieu, had to say about Nwankpa.
“Nwankpa has great length and has added good weight to his frame throughout his high school career. As a junior, he was excellent on defense, offense and special teams. Not afraid to deliver big hits and can also come down and blitz. He has the talent to play man to man even out on the corner or go into the deep part of the secondary. Long arms and ball skills make him able to challenge any receiver or tight end on contested balls. Shows smooth change of direction and has good acceleration. Long strider who can cover a lot of ground. Shows instincts and smarts and gets himself into good position to make plays. Can still get stronger and refine man to man technique. Should be a great all around safety who can line up in a variety of spots. Has a chance to be an early impact guy in college and has all the markings of an early round draft pick.”
To date, Nwankpa has received 23 offers. This talented safety has a ways to go before making a decision.
