Tigers Make Top 4 for Tarheel State’s Best

Clemson has made the Top 4 list of one of the best defensive tackles in the country. Travis Shaw, Greensboro, NC, has dropped his final four schools; Clemson, Georgia, UNC and NC A&T. He recently visited Clemson and UNC in the same weekend.
The 6-5 310 DT is currently ranked as the #1 player in the state of NC and the #3 DT in the 2022 class. In the last two years, Clemson has gone into NC and pulled out Will Shipley, Peyton Page and Zaire Patterson. Shaw is considered a heavy Clemson lean right now. So much for Mack Brown shutting down the borders.

As a junior, Shaw racked up 84 total tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 5 sacks and 16 hurries, all in 10 games. As a sophomore in 13 games, he registered 104 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 11 sacks and 19 hurries. Put him in the middle of the defensive line with Page by his side, it’s going to be a long day trying to rush up the middle on the Tigers.
The 2022 class could be one of the best for the Tigers, but certain “pieces” need to fall. Shaw is an important piece to this class.
