Clemson Falls to Number Four in AP Poll
By Zach Wagner
With a 47-40 double-overtime loss on the road to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Clemson Football Team saw its 36-game regular season winning streak come to an end. The last regular season loss for the Tigers came in October of 2017 in New York against the Syracuse Orange.
After spending the first nine weeks of the 2020 “COVID” season as the number one team in the nation, Clemson fell to number four in the latest Associated Press Poll that was released earlier this afternoon.
Top four of the AP Poll:
- Alabama
- Notre Dame
- Ohio State
- Clemson
The defeat to the Irish ended a variety of streaks for the Tigers. It ended Clemson’s 50-game winning streak on Saturdays, 36-game regular season winning streak, a 28-game winning streak against conference opponents and a school record 14-game road winning streak.
Clemson will look to start a new winning streak after a bye week this week. The Tigers will head to Tallahassee, Florida to take on the Florida State Seminoles on November 21st.
