Smith Named Player of the Week by United Soccer Coaches

United Soccer Coaches Release

KANSAS CITY, MO. — United Soccer Coaches has named Kimarni Smith its men’s Player of the Week following the senior forward’s brace against North Carolina on Oct. 27. This is the second consecutive week that Clemson has earned the honor from the association, as junior forward Grayson Barber was last week’s honoree. Earlier today, Smith received Team of the Week honors from College Soccer News and TopDrawerSoccer.com.

During the 2020 fall regular season, Smith amassed 10 points off of four goals and two assists in the Tigers’ eight matches. Smith has earned 54 points and recorded four multi-goal games during his Clemson career. In last week’s match against the Tar Heels, Smith’s two goals were scored within 36 seconds of one another.

Earlier today, the association tabbed Clemson as the fifth-ranked team in the nation, with the Tigers joined in the rankings by four other ACC programs. This is the sixth week this season that Clemson has been ranked within the national poll.

Virginia Tech’s Tori Powell was named the women’s Player of the Week by United Soccer Coaches.
