Practice Observations Wide Receivers

 Clemson Senior WR Trevion Thompson

First thing you see when you take a gander at the Clemson WR group as they muster on the practice fields of Jervey Meadows is the “Wow Factor” .  Standing tall (literally) the Wide Receiver group looks as impressive as any group on the field using the veritable “eye test”.

With newly arriving Justyn Ross and Derion Kendrick to add to an impressive returning corps of wide outs that include the likes of Hunter Renfrow, Trevion Thompson, Tee Higgins, Deondre Overton, Amari Rodgers, TJ Chase, and  Cornell Powell .  Also make up one of the best corps of wide receivers in the nation going into the 2018 season. And continues the WRU Brand that has alums like Nuk Hopkins, Sammy Watkins, Martavis Bryant, Adam Humphries, Charone Peake, Deon Cain, & Ray Ray McCloud all now in the NFL.

So when Clemson QB’s line up and look to the outside and interior or perimeter of opposing defenses,  they will have a host of talent and body types to fit any situation on the field.  Be it the quick slants to the interior of the defense to Renfrow, Rodgers and Chase. Or you can attack the boundary area or downfield as the Tigers can look towards Tee Higgins, Deondre Overton, or highly thought of freshman Justyn Ross as targets.

TJ Chase

Regardless of the rotation on the filed at the time, Clemson has depth and experience all over the field. Stay tuned as this story line plays out over the next few weeks of fall practice and a pecking order is set as the action in camp will eventually pan out on the practice fields.
