Cornell Powell

If there’s one thing that Cornell Powell doesn’t take lightly, it’s opportunity. After a double-overtime loss against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday, Powell spoke with media Monday to express his thoughts from the past weekend. Like the rest of his teammates, Powell is upset by the loss, but he is moving on from it and starting a new week with a fresh mindset.
Powell proved to be a standout player against the Irish, which is a product of hard work. Fellow teammates like Amari Rodgers and Trevor Lawrence both spoke highly of him during their time with media on Monday as well.
Powell credits his success and patience to God, saying how his faith pushed him to stick with the Clemson Football program. His patience has since shown to pay off as he has become a standout for the Tigers.
Powell explained his relationship with his mom, recognizing her for motivating him and always going out of her way for him, further explaining how he never quit because of her.
Powell and the rest of the Clemson Tigers will be spending their bye week cleaning up technique after last week’s game and preparing to face the Florida State Seminoles on November 21st.
