The 2022 Clemson football recruiting class is off to a good start, getting three four-stars committed. This class will be important due to the fact the NCAA is allowing every college football player in America a “free year” of eligibility from 2020 due to the Covid epidemic. What does this mean? That means there might not be as many scholarships available in 2021 and the Tigers will have a bigger exodus of players.
To date, the Tigers have handed out 45 offers. One of those offers has narrowed down his school of choice.to 12, and Clemson has made that list. Brenen Thompson of Spearman, Texas, has 32 offers on his list. His list includes Alabama, Auburn, Texas, Georgia and Oklahoma.
According to ESPN, the 4-star 5-11 165 pound athlete is ranked as the 3rd best Athlete in the country in the 2022 class. Expect that ranking to go up with a solid senior season.
The 2021 class will welcome three 4-star receivers, including slotman Troy Stellato out of Florida. If Clemson were able to land Thompson, that would be a formidable duo. Oklahoma and Texas are going to do everything they can to keep Thompson from straying too far.
