Clemson, SC

Clemson comes into this contest looking to go 5-0, and 2-0 in the ACC moving one more game closer to its next goal, winning the ACC Atlantic Division.  Standing square in the way is another 4-0 team, this same team almost derailed the Tigers from reaching any of their goals with an upset win last year in the Carrier Dome.  Syracuse brings quarterback Eric Dungy and a speedy cast of characters and maybe the nations fastest offense into Clemson with these same goals in mind.

Can the Tigers withstand the initial few punches from this Syracuse offense as its speed and quick pace along with horizontal passing game are designed to challenge a defenses conditioning and depth.  These two areas are in favor of the Tigers on most days, but that night in upstate New York, the Tigers were taken advantage of on numerous occasions that evening.  A performance the guys in home Orange want to leave in the wake of the season that was 2017.

This Clemson team and newly named starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence are able to put up points on this Syracuse defense and control the ball just enough in doing so, it will keep this defense fresh and limit Syracuse possessions at the same time.

Late news tonight out of Clemson has the Tigers suspending cornerback Mark Fields and wide receiver Cornell Powell for what was deemed as “violation of team rules”.  This does have an effect here in the cornerback rotation. Forcing freshman Mario Goodrich into back up action and for sure to see the field against a  very good Syracuse passing offense.

Still the Tigers out man this Syracuse team and exact some sort of revenge on the Orange for last years only regular season loss.  Score just as we put out in the Preview and Prediction.

Clemson 45 Syracuse 20
