Freshman Progress Report – Syracuse 

 

    The Trevor Lawrence Era began today as the No.2 Clemson Tigers took on the Syracuse Orange in Death Valley. This past week was an emotional one, after being demoted to second string quarterback, Kelly Bryant announced that he would be transferring from the University and freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence would take the reins as the starting quarterback. 

 

Here is this weeks’ Freshman “Progress Report” as we continue our weekly series updating you on the Freshman class and how they are performing and developing on a week to week basis.

 

First Quarter 

Trevor Lawrence – pass complete for 19 yards to Tee Higgins, fumble recovery by Syracuse at the Clemson 30, handoff to Travis Etienne for 15 yards, 4 yards, Pass complete to Tee Higgins for 5 yards, handoff to Tavien Feaster for 9 yards, handoff to Tavien Feaster for two yards, pass complete to Amari Rodgers for 11 yards, pass complete to Tee Higgins for 9 yards, Pass complete to Hunter Renfrow for 12 yards, handoff to Adam Choice 2 yards, 2 yards

Lyn- J Dixon – kickoff return 16 yards 

Derion Kendrick – kickoff return for 14 yards 

BT Potter – 65-yard Kickoff, touchback 

Xavier Thomas and Nolan Turner saw playing time in the first quarter.

 

 

Second Quarter 

Trevor Lawrence – pass complete to Amari Rodgers for 7 yards, handoff to Adam Choice for 2 yards, handoff to Travis Etienne for 3 yards, Lawrence on the quarterback keeper for 9 yards, handoff to Travis Etienne for 25 yards, pass complete for 8 yards to Justyn Ross for 9 yards, Tavien Feaster for 8 yards, pass complete to Hunter Renfrow for 5 yards 

Braden Galloway – 

Justyn Ross – pass complete for 8 yards 

Derion Kendrick – pass complete for 13 yards 

Nolan Turner – tackle 

Kyler McMichael – forced runner out of bounds

Braden Galloway saw playing time in the 4th quarter, made no statistical impact.
