Football Recruiting: Tigers Offer Safety Out of Sunshine State

Clemson extended an offer today to an under-the-radar prospect, so to speak, out of Hallandale, Florida. Edric Weldon, a 6-5 210 safety, is currently unranked in the 2022 class but that will come shortly.

The 3-star Weldon has 25 offers to date including offers from Alabama, Florida and Florida State, and with two more years of high school ball to play, he should garner more attention.

“The 2022 prospect possesses a frame that allows him to play all over the field. At 6-5 and 215, he is built like a defensive end or outside linebacker, but moves really well as a defensive back. Charles Huff, Alabama’s running back coach, told Weldon he could see him playing defensive back or linebacker at the next level.” —- Justin Smith, Touchdown Alabama.

With two more years to play, Welson has a long way to go. s talented safety. CSN will continue to follow his recruiting.

Weldon is the 50th player to be offered by the Tigers in the 2022 class, and he makes the 5th safety offered in this class. More to come.
