Dabo Swinney Weekly Press Conference: Wake Forest

Head Football Coach Dabo Swinney met with the media on Tuesday morning, previewing the Tigers upcoming game against Wake Forest to kick off Clemsons’ 2020 college football season.

“This is our normal Tuesday press conference, but it definitely is not normal” Coach Swinney began his time with the media explaining. Usually the media meets with Coach Swinney in the team meeting room in Allen N. Reeves Football Facility. This year the media is meeting with Coach through Zoom.

Coach Swinney’s opening statement showed just how excited he is for Saturday. “About as excited about this opening week as I was the first year as a coach.” Swinney told the media. “Thankful it’s finally game week. Opening day of anything is always special, and this year, every day is opening day.”

Coach Swinney also opened his mind up about how he feels about the Demon Deacons. “Wake is a tough team to beat at home. They are a well coached team. They went to four straight bowl games and started out 7-1 last year. Their defense is their strength and they got nine guys returning on that side of the ball.”

Swinney closed his statement being grateful for the opportunity to open the season and hopefully accomplish the Tigers first goal of the year: winning the opener.
