Dabo Swinney Presser Recap :

Dabo Swinney held his weekly press conference today inside the Reeve’s football facility this morning and Clemson Sports News was there as always to document and report back right here at C-S-N.

Swinney opened the presser with a statement on breast cancer awareness and the “All in Foundation” and all it’s doing this month to promote the cause.  Got to the All in Foundations homepage and you can help the cause by donating through their page or with a vendor that also sponsors the charity. You can also purchase special Breast cancer awareness pins (Orange and Pink Pins) for sale at ClemsonTigers.com.

Swinney then spoke on the bye week and what his team was able to accomplish “really productive open date for us, came at a really great time” . . . “We have grown our team the first 6 weeks”. . .”Developed some critical depth” . . . “A very productive first half” . . . “Health-wise we are in a good spot”

Dabo then moved on to this week’s opponent NC State . . . “Not many undefeated teams left out there and you got two of them facing off Saturday in the Valley”  Schematically one of the best teams we will play all year”. On NC State quarterback Ryan Finely “This QB is a Pro.. he is a legit pro… very good football player”. . . “He has complete ownership of what they do” “ Very gifted thrower, very accurate. Great command of what they do.” On the Wolfpack offensive line “They are 2nd in the country with giving up the fewest sacks” “I thought they beat us up front last year, I thought they won that matchup” On how Finely has played so far this season “He scrambles to throw. . . Created a lot of big plays”

Moving on to the NC State defense the Tigers head man stated “Three guys back In the back end that started for them” then moved on to speak on their defensive line and linebackers, “ Know how to attack your protections”.

Coach Swinney then mentioned “We are excited 330 kick in the Valley”  On the injury and player development front he brought up “Getting Trayvon(Mullen) back is huge for us”…  “Like the development of Denzell(Johnson) and Nolan (Turner)”  Then a surprise of sorts when asked about the status of wide receiver Cornell Powell… “  Cornell Powell may redshirt” mentioning he has been speaking with the North Carolina native about the possibility of redshirting this year.

Back to the NC State game and areas of concern involving the Clemson offense..”we gotta be a little more efficient in certain areas “ “3rd down. . . Certain situations in games where it has affected us some … not been as good on 3rd … we were really good last year on 3rd down. “:
