Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney walks off the bus as he and his players arrive at Memorial Stadium before their game against The Citadel Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020.

Clemson recorded its first shutout of a team since the 2016 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday, holding The Citadel Bulldogs to just 162 total yards in a 49-0 win inside of Memorial Stadium. Head Coach Dabo Swinney talked with the media following his teams second win of the season, which also increased Clemson’s streak of longest winning streak at home.

“Really proud of our team today.” Said Swinney. “We have a lot of young guys so it was great to see the maturity and leadership out there.”

Swinney also talked about his team’s unity moment at the end of the first quarter, saying that it meant a lot to him and for his team that the crowd respected his players and gave them a standing ovation.

Some other quotes from Coach Swinney:

Clemson will be off next weekend before welcoming Virginia into Death Valley the first weekend in October.
