Clemson Women Place Third at Rain-Shortened Blessings Collegiate

Fayetteville, Ark. – Clemson finished third in the nine-team field at the Blessings Collegiate in Fayetteville, Ark., on Wednesday when the final round was rained out after just 90 minutes of play.

Kelley Hester’s Tigers had play the first four holes at -2 as a team, but the rules state that when the final round is rained out the official results of the tournament revert to the end of the previous round.

Host school Arkansas won the tournament by 14 shots with an 11-under-par score of 565.  Mississippi State finished in second place at 579 and the Tigers finished third with a team score of 586. South Carolina finished fifth with a 589 total, ahead of North Texas (593) and Washington (596). NC State, Minnesota and Kentucky rounded out the team scoring.

Chloe Holder fired a five-under-par 67 on Tuesday on the par 72 course to finish the tournament tied for 10th. Sydney Roberts finished tied for 12th, while Savannah Grewal finished tied for 19th. Isabella Rawl finished tied for 23rd and Annabelle Pancake finished tied for 26th through the two rounds.

Clemson returns to the course October 15 at the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate in Knoxville, Tenn.
