Clemson vs Georgia Tech: By the numbers part 2

 

After dismantling Wake Forest Sunday, the Clemson men’s basketball team heads to Atlanta to take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Since playing the Tigers last, the Yellow Jackets have won only one out of their last five games. In their last three games, the Jackets have gone up against no. 2 Duke, No. 9 UNC and No. 25 Florida State. The Tigers, however, have won 2 of their last four games since playing Georgia Tech defeating Pitt and Wake Forest.

 

Coming into the matchup, Georgia Tech is averaging 66.9 points per game, 34.2 rebounds, 13.8 assists and are allowing their opponents to score on average 64 points per game.

 

Georgia Tech on offense

 

Offensively, Jose Alvarado leads the Yellow Jackets in points and assists per game, with 12.4 points and 3.3 assists per game. James Banks III has the highest field goal percentage on the team at 56.2%.

 

Georgia Tech on defense

 

Defensively, James Banks III leads the team in rebounds and blocks per game, with 7.2 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. Jose Alvarado is averaging 1.9 steals per game.

 

Clemson and Georgia Tech will tipoff Wednesday night at 7 in Atlanta. The Tigers will return home Saturday in a noon tipoff against No.11 Virginia Tech.
