CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson track and field program will have six entries in the 2023 NCAA Indoor Track and Field National Meet held in Albuquerque, N.M. on March 10 and 11. Kiara Grant, Marie Forbes, Wanya McCoy, Tarees Rhoden, Giano Roberts, and the men’s 4×400 meter relay team of McCoy, Cameron Rose, Rhoden and Aman Thornton will represent Clemson at the National Championship Meet.
Kiara Grant – 60 Meter Dash
Grant broke the ACC record in the 60 meter dash earlier this season when she ran an altitude adjusted 7.11 in the event, which is the third-fastest time in the nation this season. She went on to win the ACC Championship in the event with a time of 7.19.
Marie Forbes – Weight Throw
Forbes finished third at ACC Championships with a school-record throw of 22.41 meters. The sophomore’s mark is good for 11th-best in the country this season.
Wanya McCoy – 400 Meter Run
McCoy has burst onto the national scene in his first season of collegiate indoor track. He won the men’s ACC indoor track MVP on Saturday after winning the 400 meter title, finishing fifth in the 200 meter dash, and contributing to the ACC Championship 4×400 meter relay. His 45.91 time is 16th in the nation and No. 2 in school history.
Tarees Rhoden – 800 Meter Run
Rhoden won his second consecutive ACC Championship in the 800 meter run on Saturday with a school record time of 1:46.61. That mark is also the Jamaican national record in the event and the sixth fastest in the NCAA this season.
Giano Roberts – 60 Meter Hurdles
Roberts won the ACC Championship in the 60 meter hurdles for the first time in his career. His 7.62 second time is fourth-fastest in school history and sixth-fastest in the nation this season.
Wanya McCoy, Cameron Rose, Tarees Rhoden, Aman Thornton 4×400 Meter Relay
The men’s 4×400 relay broke the ACC record earlier this season with a time of 3:04.28. The group went on to claim the ACC Championship in the event with a time of 3:06.41, which is an ACC Championship Meet record.
