Clemson Fires Head Baseball Coach Monte Lee

On Tuesday Clemson Athletics Director Graham Neff announced the firing of Head Baseball coach Monte Lee. Lee, who was hired by Neff’s predecessor Dan Radakovich seven years prior.

Lee was 242-136 (102-86 ACC) in seven seasons as Clemson’s coach, which included four trips to the NCAA tournament from 2016-19, as well as the ACC Championship in 2016.

Lee led Clemson to a 14-0 start to the 2022 campaign, only to finish the season with two lopsided losses in the ACC Tourney. Those two losses and the Clemson’s final record and RPI were the catalyst to sealing Clemson out of the NCAA Toueny considered worthy of an invite to the NCAA Tourney would lead to the Tigers being left out of the NCAA Tourney for a second consecutive year. Clemson who had appeared in 32 of the of previous 34 NCAA Tournaments now finds itself on a national coaching search.
