Clemson got a big commitment tonight out of North Carolina, shooting guard Lucas Taylor, Wake Forest, NC. The 6-6 185 SG is ranked as the 7th best player in the state of North Carolina and picked Clemson out of 31 offers, to include Georgia Tech, Miami, Ohio State and others.
Taylor is listed as a 3-star player in the 2021 class and the 36th ranked SG in the 2021 class. He has one more year to hone his skills. As a junior, Taylor led Heritage High School in scoring with 21.6 average, and 5.2 rebounds. He shot 49% from the field, 39% from the 3-point line and was an 81% free throw shooter.
Taylor becomes the 3rd basketball commitment in Brad Brownell’s 2021 recruiting class, joining 6-3 combo-guard Joshua Beadle and 6-8 forward Ian Schieffelin.
