David Collins and Bohannon finish a combined 12-of-15 from the floor in the victory

CLEMSON, S.C. —  Naz Bohannon (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain) drove the Georgia Tech defense with 14 seconds left to seal a victory for Clemson University men’s basketball on Wednesday night.

The Tigers (15-15, 7-12 ACC) won its third-straight game of the season. Clemson shot 60.7 percent in the second half, including 14-of-17 (82.4 percent) on two-point field goals in the second half, including Bohannon’s game winner.

Bohannon was an efficient 4-for-5 from the field and scored nine points while also chipping in three rebounds.

David Collins (Youngstown, Ohio/First Love Christian Academy) led the way for the Tigers offensively as he scored a season-high 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting. Collins also recorded a team high seven rebounds, along with four assists, two steals, and one block.

Hunter Tyson (Monroe, N.C./Piedmont) returned to the court for the first time since February 2 (broken clavicle) and chipped in with eight points, two rebounds and one steal off the bench in 17 minutes.

Clemson trailed 49-36 with 13:53 left in regulation but would engineer a 25-11 run to take a 61-60 lead following a Bohannon layup. The Tigers and Yellow Jackets (11-19, 4-15 ACC) swapped leads three more times before Bohannon’s game winning play.

The 13-point deficit overcome for victory was the largest for the Tigers since Nov. 24, 2019 when Clemson overcame a 15-point deficit against TCU in Las Vegas. The Tigers won that game 62-60 in overtime.

The Tigers shot 52.8 percent from the field from the game, including a 42-36 advantage in the paint and 28-10 in bench points.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, March 5 for Senior Day against Virginia Tech. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will air on RSN.
